Haha.. Finally another new post. I have throughly been neglecting my blog..
I just watched The Covenant.
It was...lame..
Other than it being a through and through hunkafeast, there was noting. Although I do have to applaud the director on the effects, quite stunning to watch.
The transformation of the eye from human to red, then to black was very well done.
Also there was a last fight scene, with some force field, that was great, other than these two points, the rest just sucked!
Twilight is much better.
I read New Moon and Eclipse, both very good books.
WHY is the last book out of stock in so many places?
And underworld evolution too?
*impatient hum*

Wow, I am positivity in love with Twilight. I watched the movie 5times, and is reading the book.
It has struck to muse over whether vampire has the ability to entice human to want to have their blood drank.
Imagine, a person so "seduced" by the scent of the vampire, that she/he would just give up trying to fight and become an easy prey.
I have always loved vampire stories, not the bat turning, sun adverting ones but more of underworldish type.
Victorian, sleek, pale and very beautiful.
I guess Kate Beckinsale fits the description the best. Maybe even Vicktor. I think Robert Pattinson would fit the description of my vision rather well if the makeup wasn't so obviously airbrushed on. Its mesmerizing to watch the whole love story unfolds though.
I am pleasantly suprised that the director kept so many elements of the book in place in the movie. Many phrases are actually extracted directly out from the book itself.

Today was my first portfolio review.. There was not much comment made on my work.
I guess there was not much to see anyways. I will have to work harder on it.
Tomorrow I have to meet with so many people, my head is gonna explode.
Ernie @ AMK Hub B1 at 5.30pm
Eski @ Newton MRT at 6.30 sharp.
Meowmeow & Hong @ AMK Hub at 6.45pm
Euginia @ Yishun MRT at 7.15pm
Thats a crazy amount of meet-ups. Argh, that reminds me of the stupid MotionGraphics assignment.
Stressed again.. Why Why Why have to pressure us so much. 1 big assignment split into 4 mini ones is a short period of 6 weeks or so. =(
I think I am gonna die faster with all this stress..

I recently stumbled upon a Taiwanese Superstar slimming video. I was able to conclude one thing. They sure have a twisted perspective of what is beautiful.
They (everyone) think that girls have to be at 40-45kg to be considered a beautiful.
It seems that its all because of guys. Due to the society standard, Taiwanese guys will only like girls if they are slim and thus, girls feels obliged to slim down.
There was a part of the video that kinda made me laugh as its pretty true. Fat people will keep sucking at the straw even if the drink was finished. Also, another part, the guys who slimmed down were discussing about how after they have slimmed down, got many love letters. They would flaunt them to girls who had previously rejected them when they were fat, and they would feel kinda regretful. The host immediately commented that if the girl had accepted them at that point, they would have remained fat. Lol! So true!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMyVw_jgQo4&NR=1
Watch from part 1-5.
Haha! Another girl lost weight by eating fruits. 20 plus ntd for a big watermelon? Thats so cheap. She comment that fatties like eating so fruits with high fibre and water content can help lose weight fast. I wonder how true is that? I have heard of papaya diet but not watermelon.
There was also another video which teaches how exactly to lose weight effectively/remain slim.
Points that I found very interesting were brushing teeth at night instead of having supper. Add a drop of peppermint to keep the satisfaction.
There are also many items in the market (mainly Japanese) that have very low calories even though they are snacks.
They were eating a black soya bean cookie that look so delicious...ah..maybe its time for my lunch ><

YESSSSSS! Finally something to celebrate. Motion Graphics MTV+Me assignment is completed!
I will probably wanna upload it sometime.. not now.. I am like super duper tired. The computers in school are slow, and the screen are glaring and they made my eyes tear.
And on top of that, I lack sleep. I only had 3 hours of sleep last night. Its a miracle I can still stay up and type this.
Well.. I think there is a very simple reason why. Heroes time! Ah..the long awaited episode that is gonna unravel the mystery of Claire being a catalyst for the supposed formula and Elle and Sylar action. Moving on, now its time for my precious Heroes.. hey wait! Its still buffering like at snail pace.
Oh yeah, today's digital photography class is very enlightening. Mr. James taught us lots of quick fix techniques for photos and some advance retouching techniques.
I found that the patch tool is very useful to heal blemishes.
Curves and saturation layers are used to tone and darken areas.
High pass used to sharpen features (eg.eyes) and when the layer is inverted, its great for softening skin. (Works like blur or sharpen)
A mask layer is to be used for this purpose (adjustment layers too). Fill the mask with black and start painting the whites in.
The very useful hot key that I picked up today is: Apple+Option+Shift+r. This create a new layer with all your previous layers merged. Gone are the time when I had to duplicate all the layers and merge them.
Liquify is used to enhance the smoothness. (eg. bump on nose and crink in shoulder)
F for fullscreen, tab to remove all workspace. Apple+0 for full screen.
Hold onto options and select layer to view only selected. Very useful for comparing before and after.
And of course, before the image is transferred to photoshop, its best to adjust it in Aperture beforehand. It simplify the task of retouching like magic.
Preference must be defined for export so that the image can be exported to photoshop with right click.
Guess I will post my retouched picture for a bride done in class. We were to make her look younger than she really is.
After all the talk you wanna see some results right..Check this out:

And oh! Check this creepy yet effective video for dove beauty campaign. I think it really brings the message across loud and clear. Models are not as glamourous as they seem to be. The amount of make up that is slapped on, the spraying, curling, pulling, straightening done to the hair, the heavy retouching done to the features, are just some superficial end products. Why put ourselves through this? We are every bit as beautiful as we are in our unique ways. This reminds me of two particularly strong characters in America's Next Top Model, the korean-Japanese model Sheena, who is notoriously fierce on screen. I love her quote: "We are all the same underneath it all. Race does not define us." She later in the series reprimands Isis (A trans-gender model) for her lack of confidence. There was another plus size black model (unfortunately I have forgotten her name) who said "I am big, curvy and loving it". She was so comfortable in her skin, there was no fear of wearing swimsuits and she sure can strut her stuff. This goes to show that we girls should be comfortable with ourselves and not conform to society's warped perception of beauty. Slim, thin, trim does not equals to beautiful!
The campaign is a global effort that is intended to serve as a starting point for societal change and act as a catalyst for widening the definition and discussion of beauty. Every girl deserves to feel beautiful just the way she is.

Please take a moment to watch the video. Click to get linked to Youtube. Change your perception now.Oh, I met Hui Yuan today. She was doing her IAP presentation and had to be back in school.
She was very nice and shared with me some tips for websites as I need that info for my portfolio site.
Her flash web: http://heymember.com/
Very interesting concept. The site is done in a turntable style. I find this unique as I am pretty tired of seeing the "creative" side scrolling sites. But my knowledge of Flash webs and web design in general is very limited. I remember scoring a D for Web design, ah, all the late work. Miss Winnie must had wanted to slam my head on her table.
Okay, now time for some kick ass Heroes! Ciao~
OMG! When Sylar loses his powers (his hunger) he gain seems to have gained another one that he didn't seem to had had. Lust. Haha! What an ending. Of course, Noah spices things up with his rifle.. The next episode is gonna be great.
